Backend Engineer

Role Overview

SwishX is looking for Backend Engineers (SDE 2 / SDE 3) to design and develop reliable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems for our AI-native distribution intelligence platform. You will work on scalable architecture and high-scale B2B SaaS environments to power SwishX products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and microservices.
• Build robust REST/gRPC APIs and distributed services.
• Participate in architecture discussions, HLD, and LLD for new product initiatives.
• Optimise backend performance, reliability, scalability, and observability.
• Work on database design, caching strategies, and event-driven architectures.
• Write clean, maintainable, and production-quality code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, frontend, DevOps, and QA.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system stability.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of software engineering experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Go (preferred) or Python.
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Expertise in low-level design (LLD) and high-level design (HLD).
• Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, gRPC, multithreading, and concurrency.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience working in B2B SaaS companies or high-growth startups.
• Exposure to high-scale backend systems.
• Experience with observability tools, distributed tracing, and monitoring systems.
