Intern - WordPress Developer

Role Overview

icogz is looking for a creative and technically versatile Junior WordPress Full Stack Developer to join the team on a 3-month contractual basis, with a clear pathway to full-time employment. This role spans both frontend implementation and backend WordPress development, including theme and plugin customization, database interaction, third-party integrations, and website performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive, visually appealing WordPress websites using Elementor or Gutenberg.
• Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins using PHP and WordPress coding standards.
• Work with MySQL databases, managing custom post types, taxonomies, and custom fields.
• Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, CRM platforms, and external APIs.
• Optimize websites for speed and security while using Git for version control.
• Collaborate with marketing, content, and design teams to deliver projects on time.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of WordPress CMS, including themes, plugins, and hooks.
• Proficiency in PHP and WordPress theme/plugin customization.
• Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox, and CSS Grid.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery.
• Familiarity with MySQL and WordPress database structures.
• Hands-on experience with page builders like Elementor or Gutenberg.
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Web Development.
• 0–2 years of experience; freshers with strong portfolios are encouraged to apply.

Nice to Have

• Experience with WooCommerce and template customization.
• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
• Awareness of SEO best practices.
