Python Backend Developer (FastAPI) with IoT

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Python Backend Developer with experience in building scalable APIs using FastAPI. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, and MQTT-based communication. You will be responsible for developing high-performance backend services, integrating IoT devices, managing time-series data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases for high-performance applications.
• Work with InfluxDB for storing and querying time-series data.
• Implement MQTT-based communication for IoT devices and real-time messaging.
• Integrate backend services with third-party APIs and applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of professional experience in Python backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with FastAPI.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL database design and optimization.
• Experience with InfluxDB or other time-series databases.
• Working knowledge of MQTT protocol and brokers (e.g., Mosquitto, EMQX, HiveMQ).
• Experience with RESTful API development and Git.
• Understanding of Docker and containerized deployments.
• Basic knowledge of Linux environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Celery and Redis.
• Knowledge of WebSockets for real-time applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Understanding of IoT architectures and edge device communication.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
