Java Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Java Backend Developer with 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience to design and build RESTful backend services and stateless microservices. In this role, you will work within an agile, multinational team setup, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, database technologies, and cloud environments to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Design RESTful APIs and handle database technologies, specifically MySQL and XML/JSON data mapping.
• Implement automated testing utilising JUnit and follow test-driven development (TDD) practices.
• Utilise CI/CD pipelines, Git/GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure cloud environments for deployment.
• Prioritise and organise development tasks independently to align with overall project goals.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development, ideally with exposure to Kotlin.
• Solid experience with the Spring / Spring Boot framework and RESTful backend service development.
• Good understanding of microservice architecture, service communication patterns, and MySQL databases.
• Practical knowledge of automated testing (JUnit, TDD) and CI/CD tools like Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Basic hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, alongside initial exposure to Azure cloud environments.
• Strong independent task prioritisation skills and B2 level or higher English communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and IaC (Terraform).
