Role Overview
We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer – Networking & Firewall to provide L1/L2 support for network infrastructure, firewall, VPN, wireless, and SD-WAN environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in network administration, Fortinet Firewall, VLAN, VPN, LAN/WAN, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN connectivity across offices.
- Perform network health checks and proactively resolve connectivity issues.
- Configure and manage VLANs for departmental segregation and security.
- Configure and manage Fortinet Firewalls, including policies, VPNs, and security features.
- Support and troubleshoot VPN connectivity for remote users.
- Deploy and standardize corporate Wi-Fi networks across locations.
- Configure incident alerts and email notifications for faster issue response.
- Support SD-WAN deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Monitor network health, bandwidth usage, and security visibility through monitoring/reporting tools.
- Perform cable testing and troubleshoot physical-layer connectivity issues.
- Review network configurations against industry standards and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with backend/network teams for escalated L2/L3 issues, BAU activities, and projects.
- Maintain proper documentation of network configurations, incidents, and changes.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in Network Administration / Desktop & Network Support.
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet Firewall, SD-WAN, VLAN, and VPN.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, Routing, Switching, and Wireless technologies.
- Experience in network troubleshooting and incident management.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and alerting tools.
- Good understanding of network security and industry-standard configurations.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with backend support teams.
- Bachelor's degree required.
