Back End Developer - Intern

Role Overview

Janitri is a health-tech company dedicated to transforming maternal and child healthcare through innovative technology solutions. We are seeking a motivated Backend Developer Intern to join our product engineering team. This internship provides hands-on experience in building scalable backend systems that directly contribute to improving healthcare outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain APIs and backend services for real-world healthcare applications
• Work with databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) to design schemas and optimize queries
• Collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver seamless user experiences
• Implement server-side logic ensuring performance, scalability, and security
• Debug and optimize code to improve system efficiency
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments (AWS or equivalent)

Requirements

• Strong foundation in Python/Django or similar backend languages
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services
• Basic knowledge of databases (SQL, schema design, query optimization)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively in agile teams
• Passion for healthcare technology and eagerness to learn
