Infrastructure Engineer III - Professional Services

Role Overview

As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and modernizing enterprise database technologies. This role focuses on professional services, supporting applications deployed in Gaia Cloud and AWS Cloud environments, while ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability for mission-critical financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Understand the firm's database infrastructure environment and technology modernization roadmap.
• Partner with application teams to plan and execute database migrations.
• Migrate workloads to the latest database products and versions on private cloud or public cloud platforms.
• Provide post-migration expertise to maximize application workload performance and resiliency.
• Monitor database performance to ensure stable, efficient operations.
• Optimize capacity and scalability to meet current and future demand.
• Identify and deliver automation solutions to run performance/capacity requirements more efficiently.
• Collaborate with developers to refine database schemas, optimize queries, and improve application performance.
• Support 24/7 availability and reliability for mission-critical systems through proactive analysis and maintenance.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate monitoring, capacity analysis, and documentation.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines and 3+ years of applied experience.
• Practical understanding of AI technologies aligned to modernization and transformation goals.
• Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools for performance analysis, optimization, and incident troubleshooting.
• Strong core database administration skills and experience performing database operations.
• Experience administering and troubleshooting Oracle GoldenGate in production environments.
• Expertise in executing homogeneous and heterogeneous database migration techniques.
• Cloud and engineering fundamentals, specifically AWS (required), with optional experience in Azure, GCP, or OCI.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Shell.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
