Software Engineer II - Java

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorganChase within the Trust & Security part of Consumer Community Banking, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting while gaining the skills needed to advance your career.

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Writes secure and high-quality code using modern programming languages.
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity.
• Designs and develops with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities.
• Gathers and analyzes large data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to validate AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity and security.
• Experience across the whole SDLC.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and application resiliency.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
• AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect or Developer).
• Exposure to Cloud technologies.
