Software Engineer III - Java, Appium, Selenium

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will implement critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains to support various business functions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, and RestAssured.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand application requirements and create comprehensive test plans.
• Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects with clear documentation.
• Identify opportunities for test automation and contribute to the overall test strategy.
• Maintain and enhance the automation framework for scalability and reusability.
• Troubleshoot test failures and work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity.
• Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve automation value.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
• Proven experience in software test automation.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium and Appium.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Strong knowledge in Test Frameworks including Cucumber, TestNG, and RestAssured.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and QA methodologies.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman and RestAssured.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of performance and security testing.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
