Software Engineer III- Java, AWS, Kafka

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches.
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
• Gathers, analyzes, and develops visualizations from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events.

Requirements

• 3+ years applied experience in Java, AWS, Kafka, Spring Boot, and Terraform.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and security.
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency with Java, SQL, and React.js.
• Hands-on experience in RDBMS such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Hands-on experience with AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS KMS, AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS S3, EMR, Athena, SQS, EventBridge, PostgreSQL, and Kafka.
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
