Role Overview
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team, you will be an experienced member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering reliable, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable.
Responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches.
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
- Gathers, analyzes, and develops visualizations from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement.
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events.
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including automation capabilities.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficient in coding in Java EE - Full Stack, Spring Boot, and SOLID Design Principles.
- Experience in Messaging Channels such as MQ or Kafka.
- Experience with Databases including Oracle, Cassandra, or NoSQL (MongoDB).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, or Playwright.
- Good understanding of AI models and usage of pair programming coding assistants like CoPilot.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies like React or JavaScript.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and AWS offerings.
- Experience with cloud-agnostic app development and deployments.
