Software Engineer III - Java (Spring Boot), Python, UI

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Asset and Wealth Management Technology, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team designing and delivering market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will help transform and build capabilities for a modern, cloud-native services and event/workflow-driven architectures, leveraging AWS managed services, enabling and integrating with applications running on private cloud and of various design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver scalable, resilient backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Python.
• Build cloud-native components on AWS, leveraging managed services such as AWS Lambda and AWS Step Functions.
• Design and optimize data models and queries in PostgreSQL.
• Develop and maintain user-facing features using Svelte or other modern UI frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and engineering standards.
• Participate in end-to-end delivery, including production support, incident triage, and troubleshooting.
• Improve observability through logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and productivity.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python in a production environment.
• Experience delivering on AWS using managed services/serverless patterns.
• Solid experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Front-end development experience with modern frameworks.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and agile delivery practices, including CI/CD and automated testing.
