Software Engineer III - Java

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
• Gathers, analyzes, and develops visualizations from large data sets to drive continuous improvement.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Extensive experience in Java, platform engineering, AWS, systems design, and solution design.
• Experience with microservices, Observability, and SRE knowledge.
• Proficiency in Secure Development life cycle, DevOps, and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with SonarQube, CheckMarx, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Kafka, and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Splunk, Dynatrace, SQL, and NoSQL databases like Cassandra.
• Experience with React based front end UI development.
• Proficiency in AI usage including prompt engineering with LLM tools such as Gemini, Claude, or CoPilot.
• QA/Test automation experience using Cucumber, Selenium, Java, and Playwright.
