Role Overview
We’re looking for curious and hands-on Research Interns who want to work on real-world problems in AI, robotics, computer vision, UAVs and autonomous systems. You will work with our R&D team on researching, prototyping and testing technologies that enable machines to perceive, understand and act in the physical world. The role involves a mix of research, coding, experimentation, simulation and field testing using technologies such as Python, C++, OpenCV, ArduPilot, MAVLink, ROS and NVIDIA Jetson.
Responsibilities
- Research and experiment with AI, computer vision, robotics and autonomous systems.
- Develop small prototypes and proof-of-concepts using Python and/or C++.
- Work on computer vision pipelines using OpenCV and deep-learning models.
- Assist in developing and testing AI models for object detection, tracking and perception.
- Work with UAV platforms, flight controllers and autonomous systems.
- Assist with ArduPilot/PX4 and MAVLink integrations.
- Run simulations and experiments using tools such as SITL, HITL, Gazebo or similar platforms.
- Collect, process and analyse experimental data, telemetry and sensor outputs.
- Assist in testing AI models on edge-computing platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson and Raspberry Pi.
- Research algorithms for navigation, decision-making, multi-agent systems and autonomous behaviour.
- Participate in hardware integration, field testing and troubleshooting.
- Document experiments, findings, technical research and results.
- Work closely with senior engineers to convert research ideas into working prototypes.
Requirements
- Basic proficiency in Python and knowledge of C/C++.
- Understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with Git and Linux is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Machine Learning / Deep Learning and familiarity with OpenCV.
- Exposure to models such as YOLO or CNNs is a plus.
- Interest in UAVs, drones, robotics or autonomous systems.
- Basic understanding of sensors, actuators and control systems.
- Familiarity with ArduPilot, PX4, ROS/ROS2 or MAVLink is a plus.
- Ability to independently research technical topics and strong analytical skills.
- Students pursuing B.Tech/B.E., M.Tech/M.E. in Computer Science, AI/ML, Electronics, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson or Arduino.
- Familiarity with Gazebo, MATLAB/Simulink, ROS/ROS2 or simulation environments.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX or TensorRT.
- Exposure to embedded systems and hardware interfacing.
