Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Application Maintenance and Development Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our new and legacy application while also driving improvements and enhancements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java and related technologies, along with experience in various frameworks, messaging brokers, and scripting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the legacy application to ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the application.
- Perform regular updates and patches to the application.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address business needs.
- Develop new features and enhancements to improve the application.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation for the application and its components.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Manage version control using SVN and Gitlab.
- Ensure the application adheres to security and compliance standards.
Requirements
Required Skillset for KRM:
- Skillset: Java, J2EE, EJB, JPA
- Messaging broker: ActiveMQ
- Frameworks: Spring & Hibernate
- Webservice: REST API
- Front-End Technologies: JSP (JavaServer Pages), HTML/CSS, Javascript, jQuery
- Basics of networking Protocols: Including TCP/IP, SNMP
- Scripting: Linux Bash script basics, Windows batch script basics
- Messaging Protocol: SOAP
- Build Tools: Maven
- Version Control: SVN, Gitlab
- CI/CD: Jenkins
- Databases: MS SQL Server basics
- Basic Cloud knowledge
General Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in maintaining and supporting legacy applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Good to have:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- AI SDLC – Context based development using Kiro or Copilot and to extend for Agents
- Familiarity with modern development practices and tools.
