QA Automation Intern

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated QA Automation Intern to join our engineering team and support quality assurance activities for our software products. This is a stipend-only internship; there is no salary component. The intern will work closely with developers and QA engineers to design, execute, and automate test cases, ensuring high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated test cases for web and backend applications.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or similar bug-tracking systems.
• Participate in test planning, including test case creation, review, and coverage analysis.
• Perform regression and sanity testing for new features and bug fixes.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and improve test coverage.
• Learn and apply QA best practices, including test design, CI/CD integration, and reporting.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Basic understanding of software testing concepts (test cases, regression, severity vs priority).
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Exposure (academic or project-based) to automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly.

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Understanding of Agile development practices.

Internship Details

• Duration: 6 months (extendable based on performance and business needs).
• Work Mode: Hybrid / Remote (flexible arrangement as per team policy).
• Stipend: Fixed monthly stipend (amount not disclosed in the post; details shared during onboarding).
• No salary or wage component; this is a stipend-based internship opportunity only.
• Potential for full-time offer / PPO based on performance and business needs (if applicable).
