Backend Developer Intern

Role Overview

KredMe is a credit card rewards app, live on the Play Store and the App Store. We are hiring a Backend Developer Intern for a build-focused role. You will help transition our architecture from a thin Firebase-based app to a robust server-side system, working directly with the CTO and lead engineer to design authenticated API endpoints, scheduled jobs, and analytics pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and build server-side endpoints and background jobs
• Work with Firestore, Firebase Auth, and security rules
• Extend the Python pipeline that maintains credit card accuracy
• Integrate third-party APIs and handle retries, rate limits, and partial failures
• Write tests to ensure system accuracy

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in at least one server-side language: Python or TypeScript/Node.js
• Solid grasp of HTTP, JSON, and REST
• Exposure to databases (SQL or NoSQL), authentication, Cloud Functions, CI, or web scraping
• Comfort reading existing codebases and following conventions
• A GitHub profile with at least one original project
• Available full-time for 6 months
