Software Engineer

Role Overview

Kyndryl is seeking a talented Software Engineering Technical Specialist to contribute to our software engineering space and provide critical skills required for the development of cutting-edge products. This role involves managing and supporting mission-critical middleware technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support middleware technologies (e.g., WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, IIS, API Gateway, Integration platforms).
• Configure environments in Standalone, Clustered, or Distributed architectures.
• Perform installation, patching, upgrades, and version lifecycle (EOS/EOL tracking).
• Provide incident, problem, and change management support through ITSM tools.
• Troubleshoot application and integration issues across middleware layers.
• Support 24x7 / on-call production environments depending on project needs.
• Design and support HA & DR setups (failover, clustering, replication).
• Ensure system uptime and business continuity.
• Support application integrations using APIs, web services, messaging queues.
• Troubleshoot communication between applications, databases, and external systems.
• Monitor system health using enterprise tools (e.g., Dynatrace, App Insights).
• Perform performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Ensure middleware security (SSL, IAM integration, patch compliance).
• Adhere to organisational security policies and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps teams using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, Maven).
• Automate deployments, monitoring, and routine tasks.
• Create runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation.
• Participate in KT sessions and transition activities.

Requirements

• Strong experience in middleware platforms:
  • Oracle WebLogic / IBM WebSphere / Apache Tomcat / IIS.
• Understanding of Application architecture and integration patterns, Networking (ports, load balancers, DNS, firewall rules).
• Experience in Linux/Windows administration, Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS preferred), Monitoring tools and scripting (Shell / PowerShell).
• Experience with enterprise applications (Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft, SAP) is a plus.
• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Exposure to hybrid cloud environments.
• 8–10 years of experience in Middleware Administration / Support.
