Role Overview
Join Lytx to build groundbreaking solutions that make roadways safer. You will make an impact by crafting and building firmware applications on Embedded Linux platforms that power our IOT devices, including camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and sensors.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded firmware for video telematics devices.
- Enhance performance, stability, and efficiency in battery powered, RTOS based embedded applications.
- Debug complex multithreading, IPC, and interrupt-driven systems.
- Collaborate with system, hardware, QA, and platform teams to ensure cohesive integration.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous refactoring.
- Support manufacturing, field diagnostics, and firmware update workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelors/Masters in CS/ECE or equivalent with 4+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
- Expertise in C, RTOS (preferably FreeRTOS), inter processor communication, low power design and peripheral driver development.
- Hands-on experience with CAN (J1939/OBD-II), IMU, cellular technologies, or GPS.
- Experience using debuggers, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities for complex embedded software-hardware issues.
- Exposure to Embedded Linux, C++, and vehicle telematics is a plus.
- Python scripting for test automation is a plus.
