Software Development Intern

Role Overview

We run a commodity trading and export/import business dealing in agricultural products with operations spanning Tanzania, Malawi, Nigeria, and Senegal. We build our own internal software tools to run logistics, costing, and operations, and we are looking for a Software Development Intern to build and improve these internal tools. This is hands-on, real-world dev experience.

Responsibilities

• Build features for real, live web applications using React frontend and Python/SQL backend
• Write and ship production code used to run business operations
• Work with databases like SQL/Supabase designing schemas, writing queries, and optimizing data flow
• Build automation scripts that eliminate manual, repetitive work
• Debug and improve existing codebases
• Take a feature end-to-end: understand the requirement, build it, test it, and ship it

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science / IT or related field
• Basic knowledge of React, Python, and SQL
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
• Good problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Git/GitHub
• Exposure to Supabase/PostgreSQL
• Interest in logistics, trade, or agri-commodity domains
