Role Overview
The BI Developer builds and operates the enterprise dashboards, semantic models, and reporting assets that make Masco's POS and adjacent commercial data usable to the business. This role delivers to the standards and direction set by the BI Delivery Leader and consumes the governed data foundation built by the Data Engineering team. The BI Developer contributes across the full BI lifecycle, including requirements confirmation, semantic modeling, dashboard build, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain enterprise dashboards and reports on Power BI using governed enterprise data.
- Deliver end-to-end reporting solutions including requirements confirmation, data sourcing, cleansing, normalization, and reporting.
- Build and improve Microsoft Tabular semantic models and metric definitions.
- Implement enrichment metric calculations and segment classifications.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through disciplined testing and validation.
- Collaborate with end users and Data Engineering teams on shared pipelines and models.
- Document dashboard purpose, metric definitions, and data sources.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a BI Developer, BI Analyst, or similar role.
- Advanced hands-on expertise with Power BI, including Tabular models, DAX, and semantic modeling.
- Strong understanding of the medallion architecture.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric.
- Advanced SQL / T-SQL for data wrangling.
- Working knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SSIS).
- Working knowledge of the Azure data stack.
- Strong proficiency with dimensional (Kimball) modeling.
