Role Overview
As a Software Engineer II in Corporate Solutions at Mastercard, you will work with modern software engineering practices focused on Java microservices, event-driven architectures, data platforms, analytics solutions, and cloud-native technologies. You will build scalable enterprise solutions that help businesses streamline and optimize payment processes globally.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable microservices and APIs.
- Develop Java and Spring Boot based services integrated with enterprise platforms.
- Build and maintain event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
- Develop and optimize Oracle database solutions including SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning.
- Support reporting and analytics initiatives through integration with Power BI and other BI platforms.
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, APIs, and integrations supporting analytics and reporting platforms.
- Collaborate with product, analytics, and business teams to deliver actionable insights.
- Deliver secure, high-quality, maintainable software operating at enterprise scale.
- Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow cloud-native development and 12-factor application design principles.
- Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Experience building event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
- Strong Oracle database development skills including SQL, PL/SQL, query optimization, and data modeling.
- Experience with PCF, Kubernetes, Docker, or equivalent cloud deployment platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
- Experience integrating data solutions with reporting and analytics platforms such as Power BI.
- Familiarity with AI-powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or ChatGPT.
- Understanding of software scalability, reliability, performance, and security best practices.
