Cloud Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Full Stack Engineer to focus primarily on building and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure on AWS. This role requires deep expertise in backend development, particularly with Ruby on Rails, alongside significant experience with container orchestration and messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Build core infrastructure and applications from scratch using Ruby on Rails.
• Manage and maintain container orchestration using Kubernetes (or equivalent like Robin).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and utilize Shell scripting for automation.
• Perform complex Ruby/Rails version upgrades, including Gem monkey patching and deep analysis of underlying gem code.
• Manage and monitor databases, including MongoDB and MySQL.
• Monitor system health using CloudWatch logs, focusing on CPU/memory monitoring.
• Implement and maintain security protocols, including basic auth, bearer/access tokens, and secure coding practices.
• Address security vulnerabilities using tools like Snyk.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues within deployed applications.
• Contribute to frontend development as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience building Ruby on Rails applications from scratch.
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration, preferably Kubernetes.
• Required experience with Kafka as the primary messaging/distributed system service.
• Proficiency in Shell scripting.
• Experience with MongoDB and MySQL.
• Familiarity with security practices including token management and vulnerability patching (e.g., Snyk).
• Required frontend experience.
• Python experience is a plus.
