Role Overview
The Technical Data Engineer performs technical data research, assessment, and acquisition using various digital tools and databases. The role involves normalizing collected data, managing product hierarchies, and ensuring data relevance for global sourcing through the use of Product Information Management (PIM) systems and technical data sheets.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical data research and acquisition using the Internet, supplier websites, and internal databases.
- Normalize collected data into consistent formats governed by established procedures.
- Manage classification, collection, and maintenance of product data using PIM systems and Data Quality tools.
- Develop and manage product category hierarchies based on technology and product type.
- Evaluate template attributes and recommend improvements to taxonomy and parametric attribute ordering.
- Ensure data relevance for global sourcing and identify/reclassify misclassified products.
Requirements
- Experience in Electronic Design, Systems Design, Test Engineering, or Electronic Component domains.
- Proficiency in using PIM systems and related Data Quality tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret Technical Data Sheets and scientific documents.
- Solid understanding of PCN and the Life Cycle of electronic components.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
