Infrastructure engineer, SRE

Role Overview

Join NatWest Digital X as an Infrastructure Engineer. You will engineer infrastructure technology for public and private cloud environments, ensuring security, resilience, sustainability, and observability. This associate-level role involves using automation to provide testing and deployment routes, working closely with customers through CI/CD pipelines to deliver intuitive, self-service infrastructure products.

Responsibilities

• Engineer infrastructure for public and private cloud environments with built-in guardrails.
• Use automation to provide testing and a route to live for products.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to inform product roadmaps and technology lifecycles.
• Support engineered products, respond to user feedback, and resolve production issues.
• Design intuitive, self-service infrastructure products and contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Provide operational support for pattern or product-related issues.

Requirements

• Minimum four years of experience in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related cloud platform roles.
• Minimum three years of strong experience in AWS products and services, focusing on security and controls.
• Extensive automation experience with demonstrable skills in IaC using Terraform and Python.
• Practical experience designing and using CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies using tools like Jira.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
