Role Overview
Join NatWest Digital X as a Site Reliability Engineer at the associate level. You will support the improvement of non-functional and operational characteristics such as availability, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, security, incident response, and capacity planning. You will work in a collaborative environment to ensure digital experiences are effortless and secure, balancing innovation with risk management.
Responsibilities
- Support the improvement of availability, performance, efficiency, and capacity planning of products and services.
- Collaborate with engineers to deliver change in a safe and secure way.
- Meet defined service level objectives and continually improve systems and environments.
- Manage the day-to-day health of production and non-production environments and respond to incidents.
- Provide structure and support for release processes and suggest improvements.
- Communicate incident status clearly to teams and customers.
- Measure and monitor availability, latency, and overall system health.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of reliability systems thinking and software engineering.
- Experience using a data-driven and scientific approach to fact-finding.
- Knowledge of financial services and the ability to identify business impact and risk.
- Good knowledge of Java and Microservices.
- Strong knowledge of deploy and release services, automation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience utilizing tools across the software development lifecycle.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
