Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Networking QA Engineer with strong expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, multicast protocols, and advanced IP services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across multiple vendor switches and demonstrate proficiency in designing and implementing complex network topologies for diverse customer use cases.
Responsibilities
- Design and configure network topologies based on customer requirements and use cases.
- Ensure optimal performance and reliability across wired and wireless infrastructures.
- Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, LACP, STP, RSTP, PVST, and MSTP.
- Implement MLAG, vPC, and IGMP Snooping for redundancy and multicast optimization.
- Configure and maintain VRRP, OSPF, and BGP for routing.
- Implement multicast protocols such as IGMP and PIM-SM for efficient traffic distribution.
- Manage DNS, NTP, and DHCP services.
- Configure AAA frameworks including TACACS+ and RADIUS for secure authentication.
- Utilize SNMP for network monitoring and management.
- Work with CLI, SNMP, and UI across multiple vendor platforms.
- Understand and configure PTP and AVB protocols (gPTP, MVRP, MSRP) for time-sensitive networking.
- Prepare detailed network diagrams and documentation.
- Engage with customers to understand topology and use cases, providing tailored solutions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
- Proficiency in multicast protocols and IP services.
- Experience with multiple vendor switches (Cisco, Netgear, Juniper, etc.).
- Skilled in CLI, SNMP, and UI-based configuration.
- Good understanding of PTP and AVB protocols.
- Ability to design and implement complex network topologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
