Role Overview
Niyam is seeking a UI/UX Designer to join our team in support of our work with a federal client. This role involves designing intuitive, user-centered digital experiences for both legacy and modernized systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Ashburn, VA.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an Agile Scrum team member delivering UI/UX design solutions in iterative sprint cycles.
- Conceptualize and design user-centered interfaces for custom software applications.
- Lead the development of a consistent look-and-feel and standardized user experience across multiple applications.
- Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Establish and maintain design systems, style guides, and standardized UI components.
- Apply user research and data-driven insights to inform design decisions.
- Promote and enforce UX best practices and accessibility standards.
Requirements
- US Citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Design, Architecture, Graphic Design, or Human Factors.
- At least seven (7) years of professional experience in UI/UX design or visual design.
- Demonstrated experience designing responsive web applications.
- Proficiency with enterprise design tools such as Figma, Axure, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
