Backend Developer Intern

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Backend Developer Intern to join our development team and help build and improve the backend infrastructure for our mobile application. This is an unpaid 3-month internship providing practical experience working on a real-world mobile application and backend system.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend APIs and services.
• Work with databases to store and manage application data.
• Implement user authentication and authorization.
• Build APIs for user profiles, posts, connections, messaging, and other app features.
• Integrate frontend/mobile applications with backend APIs.
• Debug issues and optimize backend performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
• Collaborate with mobile developers and UI/UX designers.
• Participate in testing, debugging, and deployment.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of backend development.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language/framework: Node.js, Express.js, Python, Django, Flask, FastAPI, Java, or Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of REST APIs.
• Understanding of SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization.
• Problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.

Nice to Have

• Experience building backend projects or APIs.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with Firebase or cloud services.
• Basic knowledge of Docker.
• Understanding of API security.
• Knowledge of real-time communication such as WebSockets or Socket.IO.
