Applied AI Engineer

Role Overview

Ohmyweb is a web agency specializing in modern JAMstack sites and web apps, as well as WordPress maintenance. We are looking for an Applied AI Engineer to transform client requests into functional solutions using AI-assisted tools like Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT. This is a logic-first role focused on problem decomposition and effective AI orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Build websites and web apps using modern JAMstack tooling including static site generators, headless CMS, and serverless/edge functions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot WordPress sites, addressing plugin conflicts, performance, and layout issues.
• Convert client requests and Figma designs into working web pages.
• Write effective prompts and manage AI workflows to ensure reliable, high-quality output.
• Use Git/GitHub to track and manage code changes.
• Perform rigorous testing to catch problems before deployment.
• Rapidly adopt new tools and technologies as project requirements evolve.

Requirements

• Strong logical thinking and the ability to decompose vague requests into concrete steps.
• Comfort with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts, Git, and databases.
• Self-motivated mindset with a focus on verifying AI-generated output.
• Good communication skills to explain technical implementations.

Nice to Have

• Experience with JAMstack (Next.js, Astro, headless CMS, Vercel/Netlify) or general full-stack development.
• WordPress experience (themes, plugins, troubleshooting).
• Exposure to Figma-to-code or API integration.
• A portfolio, freelance work, or personal projects.
