Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Cloud FinOps Specialist to manage and optimize cloud infrastructure costs across cloud platforms. The role will be responsible for cloud cost visibility, budgeting, forecasting, optimization, governance, and identifying opportunities to reduce cloud expenditure while maintaining performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) and cloud cost management.
- Monitor cloud spending and identify cost trends, anomalies, and potential savings opportunities.
- Analyze cloud usage and recommend rightsizing, resource optimization, and workload optimization.
- Implement and manage budgets, alerts, tagging and cost allocation mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain dashboards/reports for cloud spend, utilization, forecasts, and savings.
- Work closely with Cloud/DevOps/Infrastructure teams to optimize cloud resources.
- Identify and eliminate idle, unused, or over-provisioned resources.
- Review and optimize Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, committed-use discounts, and other cloud pricing models.
- Support cloud migration and modernization projects from a cost-optimization perspective.
- Establish cloud cost governance and ensure adherence to defined policies.
- Provide monthly cost analysis, forecasting, variance analysis, and optimization recommendations.
- Track and report realized savings versus identified savings opportunities.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to align cloud consumption with business requirements.
- Continuously evaluate new cloud services and pricing models to identify optimization opportunities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in at least one: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Expertise in cloud cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and resource rightsizing.
- Experience with tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing, or CloudHealth.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, or Tableau for cost reporting.
- Ability to independently analyze cloud bills and identify optimization opportunities.
