Job Description
Role Overview
Architect and build a high-performance mobile application from the ground up for both iOS and Android. You will own the entire lifecycle, including architecture, code, releases, performance, and quality, ensuring a scalable, modular, and secure fintech-grade experience.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build the app from the ground up using Flutter and Dart
- Own end-to-end processes including architecture, code, releases, performance, and quality
- Design for scale with a clean, modular, layered architecture
- Optimize for performance, startup time, app size, and memory
- Integrate REST APIs, push notifications, analytics, and crash reporting
- Build automated tests including unit, widget, and integration tests
- Instrument for observability and act on performance metrics
- Manage releases via CI/CD, signing, staged rollouts, and feature flags
- Partner with backend teams on API contracts and design teams on UI polish
- Apply fintech-grade security including secure storage and cert pinning
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience building production mobile apps
- At least one app live on the Play Store and/or App Store
- Solid CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
- Degree in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Deep grasp of Flutter internals and profiling with DevTools
- Strong Dart skills including async/await, Futures, Streams, and isolates
- Hands-on experience with state management like Bloc, Riverpod, or Provider
- Experience with REST networking using Dio or Retrofit
- Familiarity with native iOS/Android builds, signing, and platform channels
- Strong testing instincts and disciplined Git workflow
Nice to Have
- Fintech, payments, banking, or wallet experience
- Mobile CI/CD using Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Codemagic, or Bitrise
- Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config, Push)
- Offline-first design and local storage using Hive, Drift, or SQLite
- Biometric auth, A/B testing, and feature-flagged rollouts
- Experience with motion and craft using Rive or Lottie
- Accessibility and internationalization expertise
- Experience as an early/founding mobile engineer at a startup
