Software Developer

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer at OpenText, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of reliable enterprise software solutions. You will work across frontend and backend technologies, applying strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills to build scalable and maintainable applications. You will take ownership of assigned features, participate in the complete software development lifecycle, and collaborate with engineering teams to solve technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain enterprise applications.
• Build user interfaces using Angular and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and microservices.
• Work with Oracle databases and write efficient database queries.
• Apply strong programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms to solve technical problems.
• Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
• Develop and maintain unit tests using JUnit.
• Work with CI/CD processes to support reliable and efficient software delivery.
• Contribute to frontend and backend design decisions with focus on maintainability, scalability, and performance.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues through effective debugging and problem solving.
• Work with cross-functional teams and demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Understand security fundamentals and apply them during application development.
• Explore and apply AI tools and techniques where they can improve development efficiency and product capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong programming fundamentals with Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with Angular.
• Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing Microservices and REST APIs.
• Good knowledge of Oracle Database.
• Experience with JUnit and unit testing practices.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and software delivery processes.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of frontend and backend application development.
• Good understanding of application scalability and performance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
