Software Test Engineer

Role Overview

At Optimum Info, a Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software products by defining test plans, strategies, scenarios, and suites. You will participate actively in the product development lifecycle, from conceptualization through deployment, while creating and maintaining automated tests to ensure software conforms to established guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of assigned software products and features
• Prepare and maintain test plans and strategy for each product line
• Develop test scenarios and scripts for feature and product testing
• Create, set up, and maintain regression scripts
• Test software with a goal of zero defects on production
• Work with utility programs to test, track, and verify defects
• Coordinate testing initiatives for releases to ensure all functional areas are thoroughly tested
• Develop and implement automated regression testing scripts
• Monitor program release cycles and validate deployments
• Validate and troubleshoot new builds and post-production issues
• Define, track and report quality assurance metrics
• Collaborate with business analysts and developers for continuous improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent graduate degree
• 2-3 years of experience in software testing
• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment
• Experience with development of automated testing frameworks
• Experience with configuration management tools
• Proven experience in Manual Testing and Regression Testing

Nice to Have

• ISTQB or certified software tester certifications
• Passion to grow into an SDET profile
