Associate I Software Engineer

Role Overview

The OSTTRA Technology team is composed of Capital Markets Technology professionals who build, support, and protect the applications that operate our network. The technology landscape includes high-performance, high-volume applications as well as compute-intensive applications, leveraging contemporary microservices, distributed caching, and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput microservices using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• Build enterprise integration solutions and message routing workflows using Apache Camel.
• Optimize system performance and data retrieval using Hazelcast for distributed caching and Elasticsearch for search and analytics.
• Containerize, deploy, and support applications on AWS, Kubernetes, and OpenShift environments.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production and non-production issues in distributed architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Product Management to deliver resilient market infrastructure.
• Explore and integrate AI-assisted development practices and tools to continuously improve code quality and team efficiency.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 21 (virtual threads, modern language features) and core computer science fundamentals (OOP, data structures, multithreading).
• Proven experience with Spring Boot and Enterprise Integration Patterns using Apache Camel.
• Working experience with distributed data grids like Hazelcast and search engines like Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift for container management and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and relational/non-relational databases.
• Solid grasp of clean code, design patterns, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
