Associate II Software Engineer

Role Overview

The OSTTRA Technology team is composed of Capital Markets Technology professionals, who build, support and protect the applications that operate our network. The technology landscape includes high-performance, high-volume applications as well as compute intensive applications, leveraging contemporary microservices, cloud-based architectures. You will be part of a team based out of Gurgaon and will work with colleagues across multiple regions globally to build, support, protect and manage high-performance, resilient platforms that process more than 100 million messages a day.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of development tasks assigned to them and produce high quality software.
• Apply principles and best practices in software development within project constraints.
• Maintain a strong focus on software quality, productivity, and delivery.
• Design or assist in designing components and subsystems based on requirements.
• Decompose development tasks and provide development estimates.
• Communicate and collaborate with Business Analysts and Quality Assurance teams.

Requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience of Java development.
• Strong proficiency in Java 17 or later, including modern features like virtual threads, and understanding of multi-threading and concurrency models.
• Good foundation in primary design patterns, SOLID principles, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Strong skills in debugging Spring-based services, production-level root cause analysis, and knowledge of JVM internals, memory management, and heap analysis.
• Awareness of cloud components AWS/GCP like S3, Lambda, cloud function etc.
• Ability to deliver code independently or leverage Gen AI tools.
• Basic knowledge of frontend tech using React.
