Software Engineer Intern - MERN

Role Overview

Paathz is an AI-native hospitality workforce platform connecting pre-vetted professionals with hotels and restaurants across Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer Intern - MERN eager to build real-world software products. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and the founding team to develop scalable web applications, contribute to product features, and gain hands-on experience across the entire development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining web applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js)
• Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using React.js
• Develop backend APIs using Node.js and Express.js
• Work with MongoDB for data modeling, querying, and database operations
• Participate in feature development, debugging, and testing
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and senior developers
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and Agile development processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (Graduation completed is mandatory)
• Hands-on experience building applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js
• Strong understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment
• Must be available for a full-time internship (3–6 months)
