Role Overview

Cisco is looking for passionate Software Engineers who are excited to build intelligent automation solutions for modern networking platforms. In this role, you'll work on the Cisco 8000 Platform (IOS-XR), designing automation frameworks, executing large-scale automated testing, integrating AI-driven productivity tools, and improving software quality using Generative AI technologies. Rather than performing traditional software testing, you'll engineer advanced automation systems that improve deployment reliability, increase scalability, and reduce operational complexity.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable automation frameworks for networking products
• Develop automated test suites using Python
• Execute automated regression and functional testing
• Validate software defects and verify bug fixes
• Build AI-powered automation assistants
• Develop chatbot-based engineering tools
• Generate automated test plans using AI
• Create YAML configurations and deployment scripts
• Perform log analysis using Generative AI
• Improve automation coverage and execution efficiency
• Research new AI models for networking automation
• Work with REST APIs and network management protocols
• Support deployment qualification for enterprise customers
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
• Improve product scalability and reliability
