Role Overview

ParentPay Group is Europe’s leading software product company and the UK’s largest education technology business. We are seeking talented individuals to join our new tech hub in Pune, focusing on next-generation innovation for millions of users across 49 countries. Our work involves market-leading products utilizing cutting-edge cloud-based technology for school processes, including secure web and mobile applications for payments, parental engagement, and core school operations (via SIMS).

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design, code, test, and debug software solutions in accordance with project specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Coding and Documentation: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Maintain comprehensive documentation for code and software features.
• Front end web development: Design, create, and evolve user-facing applications to be scalable, maintainable, secure, aesthetic, and usable within browser constraints using appropriate languages, design skills, and client-side scripts and frameworks.
• Backend development: Write, maintain, and design the business logic of a software application, ensuring data/services are available, and create/maintain core databases and application program interfaces (APIs).
• Database Management: Utilize knowledge of database systems (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle) and competence in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Version Control: Proficiently use the Git version control systems.
• Testing and Debugging: Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. XUnit) and debugging tools.
• DevOps: Basic understanding of DevOps practices, continuous integration, and deployment.
• Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Collaboration: Work closely with team members, participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, and adhere to coding standards.
• Quality Assurance: Implement coding standards to ensure high-quality, bug-free code.
• Development Principles: Implement industry standard development principles and frameworks for achieving quality, speed, and maintainability.

Requirements

• Software development skills in .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, VB.Net, React, MVC, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Xamarin, Java / XCode.
• Cloud computing expertise, particularly Microsoft Azure, with experience deploying and managing applications in the cloud.
• Experience with RESTful API development.
• Testing framework knowledge (XUnit, Moq) and test driven development experience.
• Experience of source code control and release management (CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman.
• Database management, extensive query skills, and ORM (Entity Framework) experience.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies: Kanban, Scrum, XP, Lean.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
