Role Overview
We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong expertise in Manual Testing of Desktop and Web Applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating application functionality, ensuring software quality, executing test cases, identifying defects, and working closely with development and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on testing experience, and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create effective test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform Functional, Regression, Smoke, and End-to-End testing for desktop and web applications.
- Execute test cases, validate results, and document defects using Jira or similar defect tracking tool.
- Perform API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
- Validate application data using SQL queries and database testing techniques.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams to ensure quality deliverables.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming sessions.
- Track, report, and verify defect fixes through the complete defect lifecycle.
- Support UAT activities and production validation testing.
- Contribute to test planning, test documentation, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Manual Testing for Desktop and Web Applications.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Hands-on experience in test case design, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
- Experience using Jira or similar test management tools.
- Strong experience in Functional, Regression, and Smoke Testing.
- Knowledge of API Testing using Postman or Swagger.
- Good knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of Agile methodology and Scrum framework.
- Familiarity with Playwright automation testing tool.
- Programming or scripting experience in JavaScript or Python.
- Exposure to automation testing frameworks and CI/CD processes.
