Backend & AI Engineering Intern

Role Overview

Klarixa AI is building the intelligence layer for life sciences quality and compliance. We are looking for a Backend & AI Engineering Intern to join our lean pod structure and build core systems for a category-defining AI product. This is an AI-native engineering organization where you will contribute to live products and solve meaningful technical challenges using modern backend engineering and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend systems and microservices.
• Write clean, well-documented Python code.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and WebSocket services.
• Own the Postgres data layer, including schema design and query optimization.
• Deploy and maintain containerized services using Docker.
• Work with AWS (EC2, ALB, S3, Route 53) and cloud infrastructure.
• Work on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines.
• Develop prompt engineering and LLM-based solutions.

Requirements

• Final-year students, recent graduates, or interns with 6 months to 1 year of prior internship experience.
• Strong Python fundamentals and comfort across its ecosystem.
• Familiarity with Postgres, MongoDB, Docker, and microservices.
• Strong CS fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
• Familiarity with LLMs such as GPT, Claude, Gemini, or Llama.
• Knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
