Backend Developer

Role Overview

Pune E Stock Broking Limited is seeking a full-time Backend and Data/API Developer based in Pune. This role focuses on building critical financial infrastructure, including APIs for portfolios, holdings, and strategies, while ensuring high data quality and backend performance.

Responsibilities

• Write APIs for portfolio, holdings, strategies and search.
• Connect with PESB’s internal systems and existing APIs.
• Work on fund categorisation data.
• Build strategy master and mapping tables.
• Map equity exposure across direct holdings, funds and strategies.
• Build portfolio analytics logic.
• Support tax, liquidity and pledgeable asset views where data is available.
• Maintain data quality, backend performance and security.

Requirements

• 3 to 6 years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Java/J2EE.
• Experience with Spring Boot is preferred.
• Strong SQL and database skills.
• Experience in REST API development and integrations.
• Ability to work with structured financial data.
• Understanding of authentication, access control and data security.
• Master's degree preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience in broking, mutual funds, wealth-tech or portfolio systems.
• Knowledge of market data, holdings data or trading APIs.
• Experience with cloud deployment and server management.
