Role Overview

As a Backend Engineering (Python) - Associate at PwC Acceleration Center India, you will design, code, and test innovative software solutions that drive digital transformation. You will focus on building the core intelligence and services layer of AI-powered enterprise applications, developing scalable, asynchronous backend services and owning multi-agent LLM pipelines for capabilities like RAG and document analysis.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building the core intelligence and services layer of AI-powered enterprise applications.
• Developing scalable, asynchronous backend services using FastAPI and building multi-agent LLM pipelines for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Collaborating with frontend, AI, and quality engineering teams to scale agentic workflows and data infrastructure.
• Advancing agent-driven, specification-led development lifecycles.

Requirements

• Strong backend software engineering experience with deep Python expertise, including async/await and asyncio.
• Hands-on experience building production services using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Proficiency with SQL and SQLAlchemy 2.0, including relational data modeling.
• Experience designing modular architectures using Clean Architecture and dependency injection.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications and RAG pipelines (ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector search).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Docker.

Nice to Have

• Experience with agentic frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or DeepAgents.
• Experience with vector databases such as ChromaDB.
• Familiarity with Azure services (Service Bus, Blob Storage).
• Exposure to AI-assisted tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
• Knowledge of LLM evaluation tools like DeepEval or Langfuse.
