Engineer

Role Overview

As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs. You will work as part of the networking data path team, focusing on networking protocols, unified data path, AI/ML based smart traffic management, and network device drivers for wireless access point solutions. You will collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, and test engineers to design system-level software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate embedded and cloud edge software and specialized utility programs.
• Work on networking protocols, unified data path, and AI/ML based smart traffic management.
• Develop network device drivers and features for wireless access point solutions.
• Solve challenges related to packet flow, service delivery, traffic management, and performance.
• Map packet processing to various HW offload and CPU options.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems.
• 2-5 years of experience in software feature development.
• Strong understanding of Linux Kernel internals and experience with low-level kernel programming or device drivers.
• Good knowledge of basic network protocols such as TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, ARP, and DHCP.
• Experience with Linux network stack, ethernet, or wireless LAN device drivers is a plus.
• Knowledge of L2/L3/L4 packet forwarding schemes such as OpenVswitch, DPDK, or VPP is a plus.
