Role Overview
As an Associate Engineer (Legacy QMS Maintenance), you will be responsible for debugging, maintaining, and stabilizing the legacy Queue Management System (QMS) platform. You will hold complete operational ownership of the system, ensuring business operations run smoothly, fixing production bugs, and refactoring legacy code into shared modular libraries to support broader system integration efforts.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, debug, and patch issues in the existing monolithic QMS codebase to ensure peak stability.
- Maintain legacy relational database schemas, write and optimize SQL queries, and manage data maintenance scripts using MySQL and Oracle.
- Identify reusable core business logic and refactor monolithic functions into modular, shared libraries.
- Support hardware-dependent components including wired network terminals, printers, and display units.
- Take accountability for full-stack maintenance across backend logic and legacy UI components.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in software development, production support, or system maintenance.
- Strong proficiency in Java, relational databases (specifically MySQL and Oracle), and SQL scripting.
- Experience working with monolithic application structures, REST/SOAP services, and modularizing legacy business logic.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP network protocols and device communication.
- High ownership mindset with a focus on system uptime and fast incident resolution.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS/Azure cloud ecosystems.
- Basic familiarity with Angular or TypeScript.
- Awareness of modern AI coding assistants.
