We are looking for an HVDC HMI Engineer to design and implement Human Machine Interface screens for power management systems and process controls based on IEC 61850 standards for Next Generation Control Systems.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing HMI screens for power management systems and process controls.
- Understanding customer requirements to produce functional, design, and test specification documents.
- Designing, developing, and testing interfaces between SCADA and data concentrator systems.
- Developing generic libraries using SCADA based development environments.
- Assisting with the design, development, and testing of external applications built on SCADA libraries.
- Supporting ongoing projects with strict timelines and identifying technical risks.
- Proposing improvements in processes, tools, and system solutions.
Requirements
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation engineering.
- Knowledge in HMI design and SCADA development using commercial packages like Codra Panorama or Copa Data-Zenon.
- Experience with industrial protocols: OPCUA/DA, IEC 61850, DNP3, IEC60870-5-104, Modbus, TCP/IP, and Profibus.
- Experience in system design, including HMI server/client and redundant server configuration.
- Understanding of Bay Controllers, Merging Units, and IEC61850 IEDs.
- Ability to validate AC Substation and Protection Single line diagrams.
- Knowledge of HVDC transmission systems and electrical power system protection.
- Experience with SQL and MS Access for report generation.
- Proficiency with tools like IED Scout, Station Scout, or DTM.
