Founding engineer - Frontend Development intern

Role Overview

Recollia is a mobile-first medical education platform for India's NEET PG aspirants and early-career doctors. We are looking for a Remote Frontend Engineer Intern with a strong design sensibility to join our team. You will work closely with the founder to build high-performance, intuitive interfaces for our web platform, including AI tutoring conversations, clinical case simulations, and gamification layers. This role requires someone who writes clean React and maintains high design standards within a shared design system.

Responsibilities

• Build, optimize, and maintain responsive web applications using Next.js 15, React 19, and TypeScript.
• Design and implement data visualizations using Recharts or mobile equivalents.
• Build real-time streaming UIs for conversational AI using WebSockets and Server-Sent Events.
• Own component architecture and utility-first styling with Tailwind CSS 4, Radix UI, shadcn, and Framer Motion.
• Extend and maintain a unified design token system to ensure web and mobile consistency.
• Manage application state and server data using Zustand and TanStack Query.
• Optimize for multilingual layouts and low-end mobile devices.
• Collaborate remotely with backend, AI, and product teams.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, IT, Design/HCI, or a strong self-taught portfolio.
• Mastery of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Proficiency in React and Next.js.
• Experience with Tailwind CSS and headless component libraries.
• Knowledge of state management patterns (e.g., Zustand, Redux Toolkit).
• Strong eye for typography, spacing, hierarchy, and motion design.
• Familiarity with accessibility (a11y) standards and performance optimization.
• Comfortable with Git and deployment pipelines like Vercel.
