Frontend Engineer III, Moderation Enforcement

Role Overview

Reddit is a community of communities built on shared interests, passion, and trust. The Moderation organization's mission is to build features that enable moderators to create and grow meaningful, destination communities. This role is completely remote friendly within the United States and focuses on building a highly scalable, high quality, and low latency web platform.

Responsibilities

• Drive new features from end-to-end through prototyping, validation, implementation, launch, and continuous iteration.
• Help craft a modern user experience for accessing content and communities on Reddit.
• Contribute to a Reddit design system, a component library paired with UI best practices and tools.
• Help build the technical foundation for future features and experiences.
• Be part of a team that’s building a highly scalable, high quality, and low latency web platform at Reddit’s scale.
• Partner and collaborate with partner teams to deliver high quality UI components.
• Tackle tough design and product problems.
• Work cross-functionally with design, product, and engineering to deliver great user experiences.
• Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in web application development using JavaScript, TypeScript, or other relevant language.
• Experience with one or more front-end web frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience with Web Components or LitElement is a huge plus.
• Experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, Typescript, Python, Java, Go, Scala).
• Deep experience with a modern web stack, including Javascript bundlers and React internals.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices such as unit testing, code reviews, design, and documentation.
• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
