Role Overview
Rise Above Reality (RAR) is a creative tech agency in Mumbai working across software development, automation, artificial intelligence, and digital marketing. As a Software Engineer, Automation & Internal Tools, you will build the automation and internal software that keeps RAR running, combining everyday engineering with applied AI using current models and APIs. You will report directly to the CTO and take ownership of projects from initial conversation through to production.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain internal tools, scripts, and small web applications.
- Automate real workflows using AI and LLM APIs for document processing, data extraction, and reporting.
- Write and document clean, readable code for colleagues to extend and fix.
- Collaborate with non-technical teams to identify manual processes suitable for automation.
- Turn conversations into scoped, deliverable plans with support from the CTO.
- Join client discussions to hear requirements first-hand.
- Own small projects end-to-end from conception to production.
Requirements
- Working proficiency in Python with the ability to build robust, error-handling applications.
- Solid programming fundamentals including data structures, control flow, and object-oriented basics.
- Comfort with SQL and relational databases.
- Practical familiarity with Git.
- Evidence of building things (professional work, personal projects, internships, or open-source).
- Clear English communication skills for interacting with non-technical colleagues.
Nice to Have
- Projects built on LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) or frameworks like LangChain or RAG.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or Docker.
- Front-end fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React.
- Coursework or certification in machine learning or data science.
- Curiosity about infrastructure, servers, and DNS.
