Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize IT infrastructure. The role involves handling cloud and on-premises systems, web application hosting, distributed platforms, databases, and containerized environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure (cloud and on-premises)
- Manage Windows and Linux servers (installation, configuration, patching, hardening)
- Deploy, configure, and manage web applications and hosting environments
- Work with web servers like Nginx, Apache HTTP Server, and Internet Information Services
- Host applications such as .NET Core, Node.js, or Java-based apps
- Configure SSL/TLS, domains, reverse proxies, and load balancers
- Deploy and manage distributed systems including: Apache Kafka and Redis
- Install, configure, and manage databases: Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Apache Cassandra)
- Handle performance tuning, replication, backup, and recovery
- Containerize applications and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
- Configure and manage networking components (firewalls, VPNs, load balancers)
- Monitor infrastructure, applications, and databases (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix)
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies
- Troubleshoot system, application, and performance issues
- Enforce security best practices (patching, hardening, access control, vulnerability management)
- Automate tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and architecture
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum one year of experience is mandatory
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Linux) are a plus
